About One Room Dungeons

One Room Dungeons was created to solve a particular problem: to provide a repository of brief encounters for therapists using table-top role playing games in their practices. The encounters here are system agnostic, so with a little fiddling they can be dropped into any campaign for any ruleset. The intent of this site is for a therapist to be able to look up an encounter, introduce it to players, and play through it within one hour of therapeutic time (taking into account necessary set-up and debrief client times).

We come from a Powered by the Apocalypse-esque background where player agency and narrative collaboration take precedence over tactical combat and clearly defined mechanisms. Because of this, the background information provided for Game Masters in each encounter has more to do with motivations, values, and plans of the obstacles than specific dialog, rewards, or statistics. We also understand that a number of you folks will be coming in from D&D 5e, so we'll do our best to attach game mechanisms and stat blocks available through the SRD (specifically facilitated by the lovely folks over at D&D 5e SRD API).
